The school

Your first challenge in the fantasy world is finishing cosmonaut training, which consists of 5 different courses. Each course consists of a minigame that you must win to pass the course, and depending on how well you play you can get different grades (though this doesn’t seem to affect the rest of the game).

Multitasking

The confused Greger Walewska is responsible for this test. You sit in a space ship simulator with different controls (brake, gas, turn left and right, windshield wipers, landing gear, altitude), and get different instructions on when to use them. But you must only obey instructions that begin with “Greger says…” At the same time, you see mathematical calculations that you must answer, but only when a light is green.

Manners and etiquette

The strict Slydia Straka is responsible for this test. You are shown pictures of different alien organisms, and must click on the right part of the picture to shake hands with them. The more right answers, the better the “intergalactic relation”.

Space navigation

The former fighter pilot Piotr Bober is responsible for this test. You steer a spaceship with the arrow keys, and must land it on a “Mars base” without crashing into the landscape. Three successful landings are required to pass the test.

Martian

The fuzzy Grazyna Konwicki is responsible for this course in extraterrestrial languages, which consists of two parts. First, you are shown a series of Martian sentences with Swedish translations, and based on these you have to translate a certain word. When you have done this enough times, and learned enough alien words, you can choose to continue to the next part, the actual test. Here you are shown words and sentences in Swedish, and have to choose the correct translation of them into Martian. And yes, the Martian word for “Mars” is apparently “mel gibson".

Building a satellite dummy

The school headmaster, Dr. Gargarin, is responsible for this test, in which you must control three cosmonauts in a strategy game to construct a satellite. This is the first of a series of similar strategy segments with constructions of different spacecraft, which show up during the rest of the game. I will describe this strategy game in more detail on a separate page.
